About Us
Child-focused
Darrasa is set up for students, by the ‘students’ of life and with the help of other ‘students’ who wants to make an impact and to help.
The founders of Darrasa are educators who have been teaching for more than 20 years. The love and joy in seeing children they worked with achieving success, based on their own individual measures, spurred the founders to set up Darrasa. Darrasa is an Arabic word and it means “to educate” or “to teach”, and the founders, along with Darrasa’s educators, believe that by teaching the children, they are learning something more too.
Family support
Darrasa knows that children do not exist alone in this world. Children need the support of their families. The better the environment and ecosystem of a child in a family, the higher the chance of progress and success for the child. Sometimes the families need supporting too. Darrasa is set up to galvanise help to empower these families and children to receive the help they need; academically, medically, psychologically, emotionally, spiritually, and financially.
Educational Services
Darrasa offers individual interventions and small group-based tutoring sessions based on the needs of the child and availability of suitable tutors and volunteers. We work with students who are struggling in school or have a likelihood to struggle in schoolwork, be it based on learning needs or lack of opportunities to do so.
